Stop 3 February 10th – February 17th Jindabyne

Today it took us 6 hours to do 270 kms inland and up the mountains. Girls were good, only 5 million requests for me to turn round to pass something or take it back.

I took the girls to the toilet, its easier for me to take the girls away while Beni sets up. When we walked out of the toilet, we were greeted by a boy holding a bow and arrow. “Who here is 4 he says?” Meggie was a bit reluctant to tell him it was her, perhaps she was wondering if it might mean she’s the next one to get shot! He then proceeds to show us a bit of blood on his arrow – “thats from the rabbit I shot… I ate it”. This is not the most promising start……..

Things have got better since meeting the greeting party, We headed to Thredbo for the day, we all had our first go on a pump track, Beni did some laps of the mountain whilst the girls swam at the local pool then in the river. Rabbit hunter was waiting at our van on our return, we tried not to make too much conversation.

February 12th Edie began the day saying she does not like surf boards and finished it paddling around with meggie, we could not get her off. We even managed to paddle over to the island in the middle of lake Jindabyne as a family. Not a soul on the island, meg wanted to know how he island stayed up. I hadn’t thought oft that way. Interesting to see how a child’s mind thinks when you have the time.

  1. Thanks Sar, absolutely love the blog. Your photo skills are great, very professional. I know we have been to some amazing places but it’s great to remember and appreciate how good Aus is. We loved Mystery Bay when we stumbled across it on one of our drives home from Melbourne. Ask Meggy to pose for some photos for me, Edie seems to be hogging all the limelight. Love and kisses Jen xxx
